I am Julie, the founder of Daisy’s in the Park. It all started after seeing a banner attached to the park railings, asking for interested parties to tender for a Café within the then derelict West House building. Throughout 2009 many meetings we attended within the partially completed restoration of West House. Despite being told by friends and associates that it was a bad business venture to open a café in the park, and that I would ‘live to regret it’, I continued with my ideas. This idea flourished and grew, doors to Daisy’s in the Park- affectionately names ‘Daisy’s’ by the locals- opened on 1st June 2010 on a wet and rainy Tuesday. The customers on that day were made up of local supporters of the West House Project and we couldn’t have been happier to serve our first coffees and slices of cake! Over the years, Daisy’s popularity has grown, the team is now 35 strong and across 2 sites! Our second Daisy to the chain opened in Radlett in September 2015. The original kitchen table enterprise spirit still burns bright. The team here regularly eat together and meet over a Daisy’s coffee to plan and dream.
Our philosophy hasn’t changed since Daisy’s first opened back in 2010. This philosophy was to offer something for everyone, to be made from uniquely sourced ingredients and homemade in our kitchens by our talented young chef brigade and that it was going to be affordable to all. Here at Daisy’s, we support local businesses. Our fruit and vegetables are delivered daily from a family run business in Covent Garden, our Dairy and Eggs come daily from Harefield, our Meat comes from Pinner, our Bread comes daily fresh from Hendon, our Craft Beer is from a Micro-Brewery in Watford, our Tea is Organic and Fairtrade and our Coffee is Fairtrade, our wines come from Chalk mines in Berkshire and our soft drinks come from Cambridge- and this is just to name but a few of our suppliers! I am often asked what are the best bits of owning Daisy’s, and it has to be seeing the younger members of the team blossom. Our first crew of Dinky Daisy’s have only just flown the nest, having been with us from the age of 15, arriving to us wet behind the ears! They’ve gone onto completing college and University, working in-between and have then taken up jobs with us in Marketing and Events. Now into their early 20’s they still come back to support and assist our Charitable events with Teenage Cancer Trust. We hope you love our Daisy’s family as much as we do!
